Choose how you want to play.

Clear encounters, hunt for better equipment, and refine a character build. This is the Diablo-style form of action RPG. Camera angle, an inventory, or an ARPG acronym alone does not establish that loop.

25 games before play-style filters. Filters combine and use supported source details; games with unknown details remain in All. A game may support both turn-based and real-time-with-pause combat. All years is the starting view so older classics remain visible.

Best reviewed blends the source score with rating volume. Release order is oldest first, and A–Z is title order. Unusually high scores with very small samples are treated as uncorroborated outliers until more players weigh in.

Why these games appear

How entries qualify

The Diablo-style action RPG form: real-time combat organized around dungeon or area clearing, character builds, and repeatable equipment and loot progression.

Include when

The core loop repeatedly combines real-time combat with build-defining skills or classes, equipment progression, and loot hunting or optimization across dungeons, maps, or other repeatable combat content.

Leave out when

Do not use ARPG as shorthand for every action RPG. Exclude Soulslikes, Monster Hunter-style hunting games, cinematic action-adventures, JRPGs, and other real-time RPGs unless the Diablo-style loot-and-build loop is itself the defining structure.
