If they land on a property square, they are given the option to buy it with a certain about of Zenny (the game's currency) .They can then charge other characters rent when they land on that building. However, other characters can also buy part of the same square, allowing each owner to charge a smaller amount of rent. Some squares contain cards that cause various effects on the board such as raising property prices or the development level of a building. The game's winning conditions can vary depending on the set rules. The winner may be the character with the most owned spaces, the most remaining Zenny, or the most developments.

It was released for the PlayStation Network service in Japan, but a US release did not occur due to technical difficulties. The game uses a chibi-style that was intended for the original game but was not possible at the time. The designers intended to keep this design faithful to the way the characters worked and looked in the original. While it received generally positive reviews, the game sold poorly, and plans for a remake of Mega Man 2 titled Mega Man Powered Up 2 fell through.

Infinite runner meets Mega Man in this mobile game. A new hero, OVER-1, takes on classic Mega Man foes from multiple eras. Rockman Xover (Rockman Crossover) was a game announced at Gamescon for the iOS phone platform. It was released on November 29, 2012, and was available for both the iOS and Android devices. The game contained characters from the entire Mega Man franchise. The game was also released in China and Korea, but those versions had fewer updates than the Japanese version and had their servers shutdown in 2014, the Korean version in April and the Chinese in August.
