Golden Axe Returns is a popular, unofficial fan-made beat-'em-up game developed by ZVitor using the OpenBOR (Beats of Rage) engine. Designed as a tribute to the classic Sega series, the game is set between the events of Golden Axe III and Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder. It features an expanded roster of over a dozen playable characters, four-player local co-op, and gameplay mechanics inspired by the original trilogy.
