Doom 32X Resurrection

About this entry

Doom 32X: Resurrection (D32XR) is an enhanced, fan-made source port of Doom for the Sega 32X, developed by the D32XR Team. The project addresses the severe limitations and rushed nature of the original official Sega 32X port. By reverse-engineering the code and utilizing the Atari Jaguar Doom source, the team created a version that spreads rendering across both of the 32X's SH2 processors for smooth performance. It includes multiple resolution options, high-resolution weapon sprites, a new FM soundtrack (with optional Sega CD audio support), split-screen co-op and deathmatch, and restores missing content like the Cyberdemon. It runs on original hardware via flashcarts or emulators.

Doom 32X Resurrection is listed as a Fan Games & Homebrew entry in CheckpointDB's preservation database.

It is grouped under First Person Shooter, making it easier to compare with related preservation projects and enhanced classics.

This record is treated as its own version or project, separate from normal game database entries.
