Contra Force (SNES Port) is an unofficial, community-developed port of the 1992 NES exclusive Contra Force, created by developer 'Infidelity' and released in December 2025. The project aims to address the severe technical shortcomings of the original NES version, such as significant slowdown and sprite flickering, by utilizing the more powerful Super Nintendo hardware. The port provides a much smoother gameplay experience. As of late 2025, a playable beta version is available, compatible with original SNES hardware (via flash carts), MiSTer FPGA, and emulators. Contra Force is known as the 'black sheep' of the franchise due to its urban counter-terrorism theme and character-switching mechanics.
